Welcome to Espero Chihuahuas...

We trust you will enjoy the story of our adventure into the wonderful world of the "Chihuahua".

I had successfully bred and shown Toy Poodles for most of my adult life under the prefix "Joiedevivre", then my children were given a little smooth coat Chihuahua whom they named "Gismo". He was such a great little dog who loved everyone and they he. Little Gismo was the beginning of our love for Chihuahua's as a breed.

After falling in love with the breed I decided to obtain a registered Chihuahua to show. After numerous rocky starts, I eventually purchased a little smooth coat girl from a well known breeder in South Australia. "Viva" was a lovely specimen of the breed and our foundation bitch. Thus our prefix "Espero", which I understand to mean "I'm Coming" in Spanish, was born.

I no longer breed or show Poodles and have devoted myself to the betterment and promotion of this beautiful breed, the Chihuahua. Once a Chihuahua owner/lover you always are one! They are such brave, loyal and devoted little dogs to their families, especially the little males.

My long term project was to breed a "Champion", then a "Best In Group Winner", then finally a "Best In Show" winning Chihuahua. I have finally achieved all these goals and I will continue to breed sound, healthy, typey Chihuahuas for myself and others.

We hope you will enjoy our website, showcasing our beautiful family of Chihuahua's here at Espero!

Pam
